Mi KAISER PERMANENTE. Caring For Our Patients We are pleased that the strike last week by the National Union of Healthcare Workers, the union representing mental health workers at Kaiser Permanente, has concluded. With the strike bohind us, we would like to acknowledge the great effort of everyone who came to work and delivered the highest quality care and service last week. We are proud of how well they welcomed and cared for our patients. Unfortunatoly, the strike meant that some non-urgent appointments had to be rescheduled. We regret the inconvenience caused to our patients by NUHW's stnike Thank you to all of our therapists We especially want to express appreciation to the hundreds of therapists and nurses who chose to put their patients first and came to work during the strike. On behalf of our patients, we thank them for their dedication and commitment. We also welcome back those employees who wère not here during the strike. We look forward to having all of our staff in place, working together, to provide the highest quality care for our members and patients Finding solutions at the bargaining table We are pleased that the union's leadership has agreed to return to the bargaining table in the coming week We are prepared to reach a responsible new contract agreement and are confident that with active engagement on both sides, we will be successful. We value our therapists and are caling on them to urge their union leadership to bargain constructively and stop putting our patients in the middle of contract demands. It's just not right to disrupt their care. Leading the way forward in mental health and wellness Alongside our therapists, Kaiser Permanente has been on a path to be the best mental health and addiction care program in the nation. We don't think there is any other organization that is doing more than we are to make mental health care better in the United States. we continue to hire therapists, increasing our staff by 30% since 2015- that's more than 500 new therapists in California even though there'sa national shortage + We are already the highost paying employer for mental health professionals in California, and we are offering wage increases that will keep our therapists among the best compensated in their field + We've invested $175 million to expand and improve our mental health care offices to offer our patients convenience, comfort and privacy. + We are innovating and improving care for our members, offering more convenient telephone appointments to those who prefer them, involving patients in better measurement of outcomes, and making many other advancements. We are committed to doing even more to innovate, to advance care, and to improve what we do. And we intend to continue making these advances with the full engagement of our incredibly talented, compassionate team of therapists and clinicians
