PUBLIC NOTICE tran Notice of Intent to Adopt a MITIGATED NEGATIVE DECLARATION and OPPORTUNITY for a PUBLIC HEARING (Study Results Available) Do you want a public hearing on changes proposed for State Route 33 in Kern County? PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD Comments will be accepted from January 24, 2022 to February 25, 2022 If there are no major comments or requests for a hearing, Caltrans will proceed with the project's design. KERN COUNTY END 33 Lerdo Hwy CONSTRUCTION PM 59.0 7th Standard Rd BEGIN Lokern Rd CONSTRUCTION PM 40.4 WHAT IS BEING PLANNED? The Cailornia Department of Transportation (Caltrans) proposes to cold plane 0.25 inch of existing asphalt concrete pavement and replace it with Type A hot mix after sealing cracks and repairing failed localized areas. Caltrans also plans to overlay the entice roadway with 0.10 foot of Rubberized Hot Mix Asphalt Gap-Graded Bonded Wearing Course and build shoulder backing. Additionally, Caltrans proposes to upgrade Transportation Management Strategy elements and culverts within the project limits. WHY THIS PUBLIC NOTICE? Caltrans has studied the effects this project may have on the environment. Our studies show it will not significantly affect the quality of the environment. The report that explains why is called an Initial Study with Proposed Miigated Negative Declaration. This notice is to inform you of the preparation of the Initial Study with Proposed Miigated Negative Declaration and of its availability for you to read and comment on. This notice also offers you an opportunity to request a public hearing. WHAT'S AVAILABLE? Beginning January 24, 2022, the Initial Study with Proposed Mitigated Negative Declaration and other project information wil be available for review and copying at the Caltrans District 6 Otfice at 1352 West Olive Avenue, Fresno, Calfornia 93728, Monday through Friday, from 8.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. The Initial Study with Proposed Mitigated Negative Decaration will also be available at: Online: https:/ldot.ca.govicaltrans-near-meidistrict-6 Taft Library, 27 Cougar Court, Taft, CA 93268, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 11:00 am. to 6:00 p.m. Buttonwillow Library. 101 North Main Street, Buttonwilow, CA 93206, Thursday and Friday. from 11:00 am. to 6:00 p.m. WHERE YOU COME IN?
