The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) proposes to cold plane 0.25 inch of existing asphalt concrete pavement and replace it with Type A hot mix ater sealing cracks and repairing failed localized areas. Caltrans also plans to overlay the entire roadway with 0,10 foot of Rubberized Hot Max Asphalt Gap-Graded Bonded Wearing Course and build shoulder backing. Additionally, Caltrans proposes to upgrade Transportation Management Strategy elements and culverts within the project imits. WHY THIS PUBLIC NOTICE? Caltrans has studied the effects this project may have on the environment. Our studies show it will not significantly affect the quality of the environment. The report that explains why is called an Initial Study with Proposed Negative Declaration. This notice is to inform you of the preparation of the Intial Study with Proposed Negative Declaration and of its availability for you to read and comment on.
