NOTICE OF PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION Para más detalles llame 1-800-660-6789 PROJECT NAME: Wheeler Ridge Pole Replacement Project: Wheeler Ridge-Tejon 70 kV line- (Kern County, CA, T.0007564.01) ADVICE LETTER NUMBER: 6632-E Proposed Project: To continue to maintain safe and reliable electric service in Kern County, Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) is proposing to replace poles on the Wheeler Ridge - Tejon 70 kilovolt (kV) power lines (supporting structures) that extends approximately 5 miles between Wheeler Ridge Substation, located east side of Metter Frontage Road East and approximately 1,000 feet south of David Road in the Bakersfield area, and Tejon Substation, located east of the intersection of Interstate 5 and Highway 99 in Kern County. PG&E will replace approximately 80 poles on the Wheeler Ridge - Tejon 70 kV power line. The existing wood poles will be replaced primarily with wood poles except for three poles which will be replaced with light-duty steel poles, which weather to resemble wood. The new poles will be approximately 5 to 10 feet taller than the existing approximately 55- to 65-foot-tall poles. Construction is scheduled to begin in October 2022. or as soon as possible thereafter, with completion in May 2023, or as soon as possible after construction begins. Electric and Magnetic Fields (EMF): PG&E will employ "no cost" and specified "low cost" measures to reduce public exposure to EMF in accordance with California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) Decision 06-01-042 and the "EMF Design Guidelines for Electrical Facilities" prepared in compliance with that decision. The following measures are proposed for this project: Raise the height of 1 pole near a residential land use area by 10 feet. Exemption from CPUC Permit Requirement: CPUC General Order 131-D, Section III, Subsection B.1. exempts a utility from the CPUC's requirement to file an application requesting authority to construct if a project meets specific conditions. This project qualifies for the following exemption(s): b. "The replacement of existing power line facilities or supporting structures with equivalent facilities or structures." Public Review Process: Individuals or groups may protest the proposed construction if they believe that PG&E has incorrectly applied for an exemption or that the conditions set out in Section III.B.2 of General Order 131-D exist. There is reasonable possibility that the activi may have an impact on an environmental resource of hazardous or critical concern where designated, precisely mapped and officially adopted pursuant to law by federal, state, or local agencies; or b. The cumulative impact of successive projects of the same type in the same place, over time, is significant; or C.
