If there are no major comments or requests for a hearing. Caltrans will proceed with the project's design WHAT IS BEING PLANNED? to Beolville The Calfomia Department of Transportation (Caltrans) proposes to improve State Route 223 in Kem County in the City of Arvin from 0.1 mile west of Comanche Drive to 0.1 mile east of King Street. Improvements would resurface the highway and construct Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) curb ramps and Complete Streets elements, including enhancing visibility of existing cross walks, rehabilitating cross walks, installing new cross walks, installing missing sidewalk segments, installing bulb-outs. and adding rapid rectangular flashing beacon systems with lighting and a pedestrian hybrid beacon system and lighting. WHY THIS PUBLIC NOTICE? Caltrans has studied the effects this project may have on the environment. Our studies show the project will not significantly affect the quality of the environment. The report that explains why is called an Initial Study with Proposed Negative Declaration Environmental Assessment. This notice is to inform you of the preparation of the Initial Study with Proposed Negative Declaration Environmental Assessment and of its availability for you to read and comment on. This notice also offers you an opportunity to request a public hearing WHAT'S AVAILABLE?
