Bakersfield College's Levan Institute for Lifelong Learning Presents A Good Night's Sleep - Nature's Health Secret Having problems with poor sleep or insomnia? You are not alone! National Sleep Foundation studies show one-third of adults are tossing and turning at night struggling to sleep. Medical researchers tell us that untreated sleep disorders, such as sleep apnea, worsen our health and shorten our life. Scientists now know we have an epidemic of hidden sleep problems that affect children, teens and adults. Class participants will learn how to recognize sleep problems, easy ways to measure sleep and best methods to solve sleep issues to get healthy sleep every night. Course topics include: How good sleep is a Brainpower Booster, and why poor sleep can be a path to Alzheimers and dementia. Why snoring is connected to Sleep Apnea ignoring these problems can lead to strokes and heart attacks Sleep quality vs sleep time-they are not the same and which is more important. Which four symptoms to tell your physicians about sleep issues. Daily headaches, fibromyalgia, diabetes, heart disease - how they are linked to hidden Sleep Apnea. Your body's super sleep hormone -get this right and watch your sleep improve rapidly Why fixing sleep problems can help with weight loss New ways to treat Sleep Apnea without CPAP or surgery. When sleep problems in children can lead to ADHD and Austism. Clues that your child may have a sleep breathing disorden. These questions and more will be answered in this three-sessions class.
