Taft City School District currently implements the California Common Core State Standards and has incorporated 21st Century skills that all students need to achieve in order to obtain success in their lives. The Taft City School District has moved forward with technology implementation and is approaching a one-to-one correspondence of students to computers throughout all of the grade levels in the District.  

The essential skills for success in today’s world for learning and innovation include critical thinking, communication, collaboration and creativity in order to ensure college and career readiness for all students. The district offers excellent opportunities and learning experiences that include participation in the Advancement via Individual Determination (AVID) and the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) programs, as well as music, enrichment, and sports programs throughout the District.
