SCHOOL Kern High School District OPEN ENROLLMENT Incoming Freshmen Only (Current 8th Graders) January 22, 2020 · 8:00 a.m. 4:00 p.m. January 23, 2020 January 24, 2020 8:00 a.m. 6:00 p.m. 8:00 a.m. 4:00 p.m. Kern High School District Office 5801 Sundale Avenue, School Support Services Office Open Enrollment is your opportunity to apply for admission to a high school other than the one serving your student based on your residential address. Parents or guardians of students entering the 9th grade in 2020/2021 must apply in person at the Kem High School District Office. If the parent/guardian is unable to attend, another adult may act as your designee. A proxy application for the designated adult may be picked up at the Kern High School District Office prior to January 22, 2020. Open Enrollment applications are processed randomly. There is no advantage in arriving prior to the scheduled times. You do not need to take part in Open Enrollment if you would like your student to attend the school serving your regular attendance area. RETURNING STUDENTS ONLY (current 9th - 11th graders): Beginning Monday, March 9, 2020 returning students entering grades 10, 11, or 12 will be able to apply by mail. Applications will be avail- able at all school sites. All applications must be received no later than 3:00 p.m. on April 3, 2020. Complete details about Open Enrollment and information about each school is available at the campus nearest you or at the District Office.
