About

CALM exists to display and interpret native California animals, plants, fossils and artifacts for education, recreation, conservations and research. Founded in 1980 and opened to the public in 1983, each year an estimated 100,000+ visitors come to CALM. Of that number, CALM provides education to more than 16,000 Kern County School children annually through on-site programs. Another 80 programs are presented off-site in classrooms, organizations and community events.
