Dr. Tom Armstrong graduated in the top level of his class in 1980 at UCLA School of Dentistry. He completed a residency in Advanced General Dentistry at the University of Oregon in Portland in 1981. With an active interest in the specialty of Sleep Medicine, Dr. Armstrong is a local dental leader in providing new treatments for patients with snoring, sleep apnea, and CPAP intolerance problems. His goal is to get the word out to all local health care providers about the effectiveness of FDA-approved Oral Appliance therapy for the many people with sleep breathing conditions. Along with his dental team members, Dr. Armstrong has received special training from the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, Sleep Group Solutions, and the Exceptional Dental Institute in the new area of Sleep Disorders Dentistry (also known as Dental Sleep Medicine). Dr. Armstrong is currently a member of both the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM), and the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine (AADSM). These are major national organizations whose members have a particular interest in Sleep Medicine and new ways to improve patients' health through better sleep. Raised in Bakersfield, Dr. Armstrong has been a dentist here since 1984, treating patients of all ages in all areas of Cosmetic, Implant, and General Dentistry, along with the growing field of Sleep Disorders Dentistry.
